How we collect, use and protect your personal data — in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

1. Who we are
MyPetTag is a brand and division of Salem & HaiTang Studio PLT(Registration No. 202604001055 / LLP0046286-LGN), a limited liability partnership registered in Malaysia with its registered office at C-06-10 Anjung Hijau Apartment, No. 8 Jalan Jalil Perkasa 1, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (“MyPetTag”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data collected through our website (mypettag.com), our NFC/QR pet tags and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data — your name, email address and password (stored encrypted) when you register.
- Pet profile data — information you choose to add about your pet (name, photo, breed, notes) and the contact details you publish (e.g. WhatsApp number, emergency contact, vet details).
- Order & billing data — items ordered, delivery address and order history. Card and banking details are handled directly by our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card number.
- “Found this pet” relay messages — if a finder contacts you through our anonymous relay, we process the message to pass it to you.
- Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account and pet profiles.
- To process orders, payments, delivery and Premium subscriptions.
- To operate lost mode and the anonymous finder-to-owner relay.
- To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
- To improve, secure and maintain the Service.
- To send you service-related notices, and — only with your consent — marketing updates you can opt out of at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Public information you choose to publish
A pet profile is designed to be viewed by anyone who taps or scans the tag. Any information you add to a public profile — including a contact number shown while lost mode is on — may be seen by members of the public. You control what appears and can hide or remove it at any time from your dashboard. Your phone number is hidden by default and only shown when you enable lost mode or choose “always” visibility.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the Service:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage hosting.
- Billplz — our Malaysian payment gateway, which processes payments securely on our behalf.
- Delivery and logistics partners, to fulfil physical orders.
- Government authorities or law enforcement where required by law.
These providers may process data outside Malaysia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to comply with our legal, accounting or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see your rights below).
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls and reputable hosting — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of material breaches where required.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to operate the site, and limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the site works.
9. Your rights under the PDPA
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Withdraw consent to, or limit, our processing of your data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.

10. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
